I went to the downtown library to do my summer reading assignment today. I only read for about 10 minutes in the arts and music section because I was getting distracted, so I left and took the escalator down to the lobby. I went to the adorable library gift shop and bought an overpriced greeting card for my aunt because she sent me a package of really cute clothes and sandals and I wanted to thank her. :p
After that, I decided to explore the library a little bit. So I went to the science and technology floor of the library and I passed by an area with comfortable armchairs where people were reading. In one of the armchairs, there was one guy who was probably a bit too comfortable. He was asleep and was snoring louder than growl of a passing motorcycle. It made me laugh. xD
But there's another thing that made me laugh ...and feel violated at the same time. In the computer area of the library's sciences floor, there were these desk cubicles where people were working and using their laptops in privacy. Admittedly, I was being nosy and I peeked at the computer screens of the people inside the cubicles. I probably shouldn't have done that... There was a guy in his cubicle who was looking at internet pictures of naked men. O.o Needless to say, I was thoroughly creeped out. I thought that maybe I was just hallucinating when I saw that, so I went back and double checked. xD Nope. My eyes haven't deceived me.
After that interesting experience, I went back to doing my summer reading in one empty desk cubicle. I read for about another 10 minutes while getting distracted by the mixed noise of people playing video games, people listening to whiny ballads, and hobos laughing by themselves. Maybe I'm a little bit easily distracted when I'm reading, but is that seriously what people go to the library for? But I wasn't really angry or irritated while I was there. I actually wanted to join in on the orchestra of anonymous noise. In the momentary quiet of the library hall, I felt the bizarre urge to make hentai sounds... but I fought against it. xD
I decided to go home after all the fun I had in the library. :P I was feeling a bit hungry since I hadn't eaten lunch, so I went to a food court nearby. When I was about to pay with my new debit card, I realized that I haven't activated it yet. Shit. The only money I had in my wallet was in Philippine pesos. I was freakin' starving. "Uh, I'm sorry. I'll come back next time." I told the cashier as I awkwardly walked out of the food court. He was pretty nice about it, though.
That was so embarassing. Good job, Monica. Now you can't show your face there anymore. I'll just eat when I get home... I thought as I inadvertently crossed the street to take the public bus back home. I didn't notice there was a guy on a bicycle going towards my direction, but I got out of the way just in time. "Move!" the guy on the bicycle said angrily.
F*ck no, he did not just tell me to move. That's f*cking rude... Oh well. So I waited at that corner to cross to the other side of the street. The bicycle guy was crossing it too. I heard him say to me, "Learn how to get out of the way, you bitch!!"
Is this guy serious? What the f*ck is his problem? He must have a metal pole up his ass, I thought but I was too shocked to utter a rude word in return. He biked away and I hoped that he would get hit by a bus or something. Seriously, even if you've had a shitty day it doesn't give you the right to talk like that to anyone. F*ck that guy. What an asshole. I waited for the bus to come while thinking of equally rude comebacks I should've said. Somehow, tears started welling up in my eyes because I was so pissed off. What a pussy. xD
I love going to the library.
