Becky!

When I went to eat breakfast at a restaurant this morning, I saw a waitress who looked exactly like my favorite Japanese celebrity/comedian, Becky! Obviously, it wasn't really her because Becky wouldn't even be working in a diner, but the girl really looked like her! I almost fan-girled and asked for a picture xD It's probably just Becky's doppelganger... so strange :P

Becky is optimistic, kind, humorous, bubbly, and full of life! She is a lovely idol :) Becky has a British father and Japanese mother. Isn't she pretty?

Kao Prettia Japanese Hair Dye Review

Three weeks ago, I dyed my hair with Prettia Glossy Brown hair color. It is a Japanese brand not available in american grocery stores. I bought it at Marukai japanese market in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. Prettia is a really effective hair dye for those with virgin black hair. It uses a foaming technology to color every part of your hair evenly, producing a professionally-dyed color.

Here are the colors of Prettia:

I think there is also a gold/yellow series of colors.

I purchased Glossy Brown.

PROS:  Prettia gave me great results and I am glad I bought it.  The color looks natural and gives my hair a lovely shine and gloss, just like its name Glossy Brown.  The color is very bright under the sun, but is not overwhelming or fake-looking.

CONS:  Prettia has quite a strong chemical smell that I didn't anticipate. The previous hair dyes i tried had a gentle, even sweet, fragrance, but Prettia had quite a strong smell.
Don't underestimate the amount of hairdye Prettia has. When you begin to apply the foam, you must keep in mind that you will need to finish the entire bottle (which is A LOT of foam). This may be a 'pro' to people with long hair, but a 'con' to people with short hair, like me. Be careful not to drop any of the foam onto ur clothes, floor, or sink. It may stain.
The conditioning cream comes in a thin sachet inside the box. I really disliked the tiny amount of conditioner. It was not even enough for half of my hair. While I washed my hair, I tried not to smell the strong odor.

Despite the many 'cons' I listed, I am extremely pleased with my results.  Many people compliment the nice hair color.  Besides the strong smell, Prettia is a great hair dye ;D

It's a rainy sunday morning...

and I had waffles and eggs for breakfast. I've been craving waffles all week and finally got to eat some today :) I prefer waffles over pancakes because waffles have a delicious crisp and crunch to them as well as the awesome boxes on its surface. It's perfect with some warm honey and strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. With a little pat of butter on the top, waffles are a filling and nutritious breakfast.
WAFFLE SPAM!!!

Never eat soggy waffles.

Go Ask Alice

A book I've recently read is Go Ask Alice. This book, by an anonymous writer, has truly opened my eyes to the shocking universe of drugs, sex, and addiction. It is a must-read for teenagers and adults alike.

 On the back cover:
"It started when she was served a soft drink laced with LSD in a dangerous party game. Within months, she was hooked, trapped in a downward spiral that took her from her comfortable home and loving family to the mean streets of an unforgiving city. It was a journey that would rob her of her innocence, her youth--and ultimately her life."

Dreamy Princess tagged me! :)

1. What your favorite songs of all time?
I like Filipino and Japanese songs the most. I can't really name any favorites... I have so many!

2. Have you found something you really want?
You! nyahahaha ...or pita bread :P

3. What's the funniest fact about you?
I pick my nose too much o.o

4. Do you ever feel jealousy with your BFF, and why is that?
Not really. I love my best friend :) We're always happy for each other, so there's no need for jealousy.

5. What was the first magazine you had and you liked so much?
The first magazine I liked so much was a Japanese pop music magazine with alot of cute celebrities on the cover. I was fangirl-ing all the way home after I bought it ^.^

6. If you win a prize of $100 million, what will you buy?
Hmm. I think I would pay off my sisters' college loans and our other expenses, buy a nice minivan for my family, buy a trip to Hawaii for my family and friends, and buy a life's worth of Silk chocolate soymilk.

7. What is your craziest dream? (dream in your sleep)
It was not a dream at all, but a nightmare! I was being chased by evil clowns during the night and I ran inside a car to hide.

8. Why did you make a blog?
I don't write in a diary, but I still wanted a way to express my feelings and write about my favorite hobbies, people, and things. So I started my own blog. It's so fun to decorate my page, fill it with colors and pictures and words to describe my every mood, and add lovely music to it. My blog is just like a diary: I have the freedom to write and express anything I want, which is the best thing in the world to me! :D

New Webcam

I bought myself a webcam this week! The brand I purchased was Logitech C210. It wasn't cheap, but it's very much worth it. Logitech makes high-quality webcams, keyboards, and other computer essentials. The picture quality (1.3 MP) and the lighting adjustment is great for me :)

Now I can take photos of the products I use and make some tutorials in the future :D

Shiseido "Perfect Whip" Foam Cleanser

A wonderful facial cleanser that is definitely on my wishlist is Shiseido's "Perfect Whip" Foam Cleanser. I was browsing through YouTube videos when I stumbled upon a Shiseido commercial featuring a girl washing her face with this cloud of white, fluffy foam... I wondered what kind of face wash it was.

I googled the Japanese skin product and found raving reviews. These MakeupAlley reviews praise Shiseido "Perfect Whip" for excellently cleansing the skin, brightening the face, and saving the buyers "a heap of money." Many of the reviewers mention that the bottle lasted for a year or more! All you need is a pea-sized amount of product to lather up your entire face :)

Once I finish my facial wash, Kracie (Kanebo Home Products) Naive Foam Cleanser, I'll buy Perfect Whip! Ahahaha :D

I bought the peach-scented one. The Naive cleanser doesn't foam as much as Shiseido Perfect Whip, but it is still a good face wash. It leaves my face soft and feeling clean, without drying or stripping my face of natural oils. I love the sweet smell too!

I recommend both of these products! <3

I Love Sweets.

I'm not a big fan of spicy or bitter foods. Sweets and desserts are what I love :D
I frequently make chocolate pancakes for weekend breakfast, I can fry eggs, make sushi/onigiri, and microwave leftovers. Occasionally, I bake brownies or cookies with the help of my sisters.. but that's pretty much it xD
Someday I'll learn how to cook like a pro!

I find inspiration through looking at pictures of food. That probably sounds odd, but when I see photographs of lovely desserts or appetizing dishes I feel motivated to create a dish of my own.

Hello :)

My name is Monica. Here on my blog I will write the various events of my life, current obsessions, and my favorite people and things.

I am an optimist, a neat freak, and a good friend :) I love cooking and baking, eating healthy as much as possible, I avoid spicy foods and soda, I like staying indoors but also like going out. I love fashion, photography, reading, music, traveling, Japanese and Italian food, and all things cute. My style is simple, cute, and comfortable. I study Japanese language at school and I hope to become a fluent speaker in the future and visit Japan someday =)

I'm not sure what else to say ahahaha but my blog posts will hopefully reveal more of my personality. I'm looking forward to meeting new people and making new friends :D

Nice to meet you!
