It's 5 in the morning...

on a Friday. On Veterans Day. There's no school on Veterans Day. What am I doing awake?

I slept at 6pm (yesterday) and woke up an hour ago, actually. xD Not surprisingly, I decided to use the Internet. Good morning. :)

Yesterday, my friend told me my face looks like siopao. Wonderful. I didn't know whether to take that offensively or as a compliment, but what a creative way to greet me at 7AM. xD

So it's the start of a glorious three-day weekend and I'm beyond ecstatic! Today (later on this afternoon) I'm going to S-'s party! Yesssss :D Shoot, I forgot to bake her brownies last night because I fell asleep. =.= I have to make them today then. I've already bought her a cute little present at a gift shop, and I know she'll make fun of me for it. xD At school, my other friends and I invited the mariachi band (which S- hates) to play a happy birthday song for her. It's so fun to troll on S-. :3

What the hell happened to my background?? o.o

Anyway, I should be doing some homework right now so that it doesn't pile up.

Have a fun day!

Greaser makeup and my stupid dog

This week was particularly hectic. A test or quiz practically everyday, more homework, and much less sleep. However, it ended quite nicely because I feel like I've taken care of most of the things I needed to do. And that's always nice.

I've voluntarily eaten at a fast food restaurant three times this week. o.o I never knew that a kalbi burger could be so delicious the second and third time I ate them. After school I bought my mom and dad some sweet potato fries (which are amazing btw), and this time my annoying little dog didn't jump onto the table to eat them up.

Anyway, it's Halloween on Monday! Time to dress up like a Greaser for my dance class =) How fun! I've already started experimenting with makeup looks for my costume. (Excuse my weird expressions.)

I've added a faux Marilyn Monroe mole :)

I often don't wear any makeup, so I hope I won't shock my friends and my parents too much :P

Sick?

Lately, my throat has been feeling like a desert and I think it's doing some real damage on my voice. I'm already known for speaking in a voice quieter than a French mime, but this little sickness is the icing on the cake. =.= Shit. No matter how much water I drink, my throat still feels dry.
Not only am I on the path of getting a nasty sore throat, but I'm also noticing how a lot of people at my school are becoming more sick-minded. You know what I mean. It's like an epidemic. @.@ Even the most random sentences can morph into a downright perverted thought in the minds of numerous teenagers today. For example, the popular quote from Mean Girls, "Is your muffin buttered," carries a twisted meaning beneath its harmless denotation. Maybe this phenomenon is yet another product of the media and its ever-sexual film and television themes. If this "sick" way of thinking persists, then I am definitely worried for our future generations.
Wow, I got carried away with writing again. xD Hm, this sounds like a pretty interesting editorial to write about for my school newspaper. Anyway, it's past 12am and I need to get to sleep!

Good night!

Back to School

I finished my first week of school :) It was not that bad. But I miss someone who doesn't go to school with me anymore :P I'm working really hard to get straight A's this whole year, so I'm doing my best to focus. Sorry if this is a boring post. I just wanted to write something before I get too busy.

I've been thinking about college plans and beyond, which is honestly getting me a little stressed. I'm trying to stay away from stress as much as possible, so I really need to calm down and think more positively. I plan to become a pediatric nurse in the future. In college I plan to major in Nursing with a focus on Pediatrics and minor in Child/Developmental Psychology. I like it. This new career plan is a happy balance of what I'm interested in and what would give me a comfortable life. That's a good thing.

I'm also prepping for the Japanese SAT Subject Test coming this November. I'm also working on my spirituality and I'm trying to read more. Not anything in particular; I just want to read more. Oh, I also have to write more. I'll try to keep writing on my blog as often as possible. I already have a list of what I want to do blog posts about. YAY :D

It's getting late now. I don't know where he went, but he's not online :P I guess I'll wait for him while I read a book.

    Goodnight :)

Yeng Constantino: My new favorite singer

Yeng Constantino, also known as the "Rockoustic Princess" of the Philippines, is a multi-awarded singer songwriter and a gracefully talented musical performer. She is also my new favorite singer! :) Yeng Constantino has a really sweet and melodic voice.

These are some of my favorites:

jschool, creepers, and summer is ending =.=

Today was my last day of Japanese school. *sob sob* I've made many new friends there and I am very privileged to have learned from my excellent teachers, O-sensei and H-sensei.
I woke up late this morning, so I had to rush and skip breakfast just so I can get to school on time. I got late anyway LOL. I'm always late to Japanese school =.=
Anyways, we did tea ceremony today! It was really fun and spiritual and relaxing. Before we drank tea, we were served delicious red bean and white bean sweets, which I loved! ^^ Although the green tea served afterward was a little too bitter for me, I did appreciate its earthy taste. I even got to mix the tea with that whisk-looking thing and make it all frothy :3 The opposite flavors of the bean sweets and the tea gave a nice balance and felt very refreshing. For 30 minutes we had to sit in a certain way with our legs folded and parallel to each other, which was kind of like torture... How do Japanese people sit like that -.- LOL. I really enjoyed it though. Maybe in the future I'll study tea ceremony and live a long, healthy life just like the Japanese women at my school :3
I also played with E-chan's cute baby hamsters today and I'm lucky they didn't bite me! They bit H-chan instead LOL.

I'll miss this textbook! :P
It's so cute isn't it? I bet at night it looks like a haunted house.
I like the cool desks in our classroom. My cell phone camera is bad quality -.-
After saying goodbye to my friends and teachers at school, I went across the street to a Korean restaurant 'cause by that time, I was hungry and became dehydrated from the 90-degree weather today -.- I finished eating curry rice and walked to the bus stop. This guy came up to me and asked me in broken English what time it was. He said he's learning English and that he came from Guatemala. I thought it was the end of our small talk, but he continued to ask a bunch of other questions about myself like my age, where I came from, and how long I've been waiting for the bus. I was beginning to feel extremely uncomfortable. Later on when the bus arrived, he followed me and talked to me some more. He asked what I'm do tomorrow and if I had a cellphone. Then, he asked for my number (which I refused to give). -.- He asked for my last name (which I was not about to give either) so I just made up a name, hoping he would leave me alone. That's not all. He told me I was beautiful and handsome and pretty. EW. What a freakin' creeper... You disgust me, old man.
Feeling very suspicious and violated, I immediately got off the bus at my stop to catch a different route when I realized I had no more bus money. Shiet. With no other option, I had to walk down this longgggg boulevard to get home. I walked under the sweltering heat of the sun with my sizzling feet and my sweaty t-shirt with the single motivation of having a icy glass of water the minute I get home. Luckily, I brought a sun umbrella with me :P

This is from last Sunday (8/21) after the Nisei Week fesitval.  I danced the Bon Odori for 2 hours =.= It was amazing.
I've been volunteering over the summer as well. I have one more volunteering day before school starts :P
I've also been going on dates with my bf :) I want to post his picture too, but I didn't get his permission yet :P
School is going to start soon! Gotta get everything finished :)

I love going to the library

I went to the downtown library to do my summer reading assignment today. I only read for about 10 minutes in the arts and music section because I was getting distracted, so I left and took the escalator down to the lobby. I went to the adorable library gift shop and bought an overpriced greeting card for my aunt because she sent me a package of really cute clothes and sandals and I wanted to thank her. :p

After that, I decided to explore the library a little bit. So I went to the science and technology floor of the library and I passed by an area with comfortable armchairs where people were reading. In one of the armchairs, there was one guy who was probably a bit too comfortable. He was asleep and was snoring louder than growl of a passing motorcycle. It made me laugh. xD

But there's another thing that made me laugh ...and feel violated at the same time. In the computer area of the library's sciences floor, there were these desk cubicles where people were working and using their laptops in privacy. Admittedly, I was being nosy and I peeked at the computer screens of the people inside the cubicles. I probably shouldn't have done that... There was a guy in his cubicle who was looking at internet pictures of naked men. O.o Needless to say, I was thoroughly creeped out. I thought that maybe I was just hallucinating when I saw that, so I went back and double checked. xD  Nope. My eyes haven't deceived me.

After that interesting experience, I went back to doing my summer reading in one empty desk cubicle. I read for about another 10 minutes while getting distracted by the mixed noise of people playing video games, people listening to whiny ballads, and hobos laughing by themselves. Maybe I'm a little bit easily distracted when I'm reading, but is that seriously what people go to the library for? But I wasn't really angry or irritated while I was there. I actually wanted to join in on the orchestra of anonymous noise. In the momentary quiet of the library hall, I felt the bizarre urge to make hentai sounds... but I fought against it. xD

I decided to go home after all the fun I had in the library. :P I was feeling a bit hungry since I hadn't eaten lunch, so I went to a food court nearby. When I was about to pay with my new debit card, I realized that I haven't activated it yet. Shit. The only money I had in my wallet was in Philippine pesos. I was freakin' starving. "Uh, I'm sorry. I'll come back next time." I told the cashier as I awkwardly walked out of the food court. He was pretty nice about it, though. That was so embarassing. Good job, Monica. Now you can't show your face there anymore. I'll just eat when I get home... I thought as I inadvertently crossed the street to take the public bus back home. I didn't notice there was a guy on a bicycle going towards my direction, but I got out of the way just in time. "Move!" the guy on the bicycle said angrily. F*ck no, he did not just tell me to move. That's f*cking rude... Oh well. So I waited at that corner to cross to the other side of the street. The bicycle guy was crossing it too. I heard him say to me, "Learn how to get out of the way, you bitch!!" Is this guy serious? What the f*ck is his problem? He must have a metal pole up his ass, I thought but I was too shocked to utter a rude word in return. He biked away and I hoped that he would get hit by a bus or something. Seriously, even if you've had a shitty day it doesn't give you the right to talk like that to anyone. F*ck that guy. What an asshole. I waited for the bus to come while thinking of equally rude comebacks I should've said. Somehow, tears started welling up in my eyes because I was so pissed off. What a pussy. xD

I love going to the library.

Blah Blah Blah post

Good morning! It's August already.

I don't know if I'm the only one who does this, but every time I look up a word in the dictionary I end up reading the definitions of other words that catch my attention. So instead of taking a minute to find the definition of a word, I end up taking five minutes. The English language is just so interesting to me. (: I'm also starting to read my psychology textbook that I ordered online a couple months ago. I wasn't able to read it much since it was finals week during school at that time. But now I have plenty of time to study it. I'm researching colleges and universities that have prominent psychology programs as well. I'm fishing for a specialized psychology major too. Something that really interests me.

Anyway, I've started eating oatmeal and fruit for breakfast. I hope it'll make a difference in my diet and I hope I'll continue it for as long as possible without getting bored. I've also started drinking green tea instead of juice or plain water. I'll try to exercise, too.

I played this nerdy game with my bf recently. It's called DDTank. Yeah. xD It's pretty fun actually.

My sisters will soon be leaving the house to go back to their respective universities. Yes! I'll have my own room again. I'll make it as neat as possible :3

Well, I'll get back to eating my breakfast. See you!

Diet?? alsdkjnbsd;k^&@

Hello! :D

So it's been around 2 or 3 weeks since I got back from my family trip to the Philippines, and on my last day there I promised myself that when I get back to the U.S. I would start a diet and exercise program to lose the weight I gained from this vacation. Honestly, I ate Jollibee every single day when I was there. I know. What the fff....rench toast. I told myself to do at least an hour of jogging every morning if possible and limit my eating to healthy food. Well, that didn't happen xD

I've been eating whatever the hell I want since I got back =.= even midnight snacks.... >,<
Seriously, I need to shape up. Now!!!

Big cheeks...... -.-
Maybe if I make this face I can burn my cheek fat...

Hmm maybe it doesn't work that way xD

Dear God,

Please give me the motivation and energy to do my summer assignments and go to the library. I love you & thank you :3

Happy Birthday, Mama!

I love you so much :) My prayers for you are to be healthy, happy, and strong. Thank you for everything, Mama.

Mabuhay! I'm back from Manila (Part 3)

In the Philippines, I watched Tagalog "Spongebob Squarepants" with my lola! It was so funny. I just wanted to mention that :3

Anyways...

While I was in the Philippines, I went shopping with my mom at almost all the malls in Manila. It was very fun xD My mom and my aunt bought me really cute clothes and a bunch of other things that were at really good prices. That's because we went to Greenhills, a bargain-shopping center stocked full with affordable and adorable items, from trendy dresses to intricate antiques! (idk if i used correct punctuation on that sentence, but you get me ;D)

Some of the clothes may be wrinkly. I didn't have a hanger to hang them on. Sorry about that~

Big strawberry tank top :D It's close fitting at the top and flowy at the bottom.

Cherry tank top (for ma sistah lol) These tops were 2 for Php200 (about $4)

Cute, simple t-shirt. The Union Jack flag looks it was painted on. I like it :)

Number 84 athletic t-shirt, two stripes on each sleeve.

The first picture isn't very clear, but this dark blue blouse has lace detailing. There's a lace ribbon on the collar area that you can tie into a bow. The bottom of the blouse is stretchy. The bow I tied looks very lousy xD

Sweet pink blouse. It's the length of a tunic/dress. It goes about knee-length. It looks good with leggings or on its own :3 The fabric is kind of thin and nearly sheer, so you'd have to wear a camisole underneath. I really like this cute dress.
This brown dress has a print with some writing on it that I can't understand xD The fabric is cotton.
I also got items from Etude House, a Korean beauty brand:

3 items! Facial cleanser, eyeshadow kit, and eyebrow pencil.

Etude House "Easy Brow Pencil" in brown (I'm not sure what shade of brown. They all look the same to me xD), with brush tip at the opposite end

Etude House "LUCIDarling" eyeshadow kit (#8 Miss Berry Berry) On the box it says something about LED gradation to describe the shimmer that's in the eyeshadows. It's a very cute packaging :)

Etude House "Happy Teatime Green Tea Cleansing Foam" I chose Green Tea scent because it is very pleasant and mild and it's very gentle on my skin. The other scents were Milk Tea, Peach Tea, and Lemon Tea.

I got this from a Japanese home store. It's a soft rubber facial scrubber :3 for only Php88.

Cath Kidston makeup bags/purses. It's a London-based brand and is probably expensive, but I got them for under Php600 at Greenhills Shopping Center (a bargain mall). So cute!

Strawberry pot holders/oven mitts from a Japanese home store. Php66 each.

Cute earphones and a funny keychain :3 The earphone turned out to be terrible quality. It's just cute. Nothing more. I really like this keychain though xD It's so cute and funny.

These were most of my Philippine purchases~ I have a couple more that I wasn't able to photograph, though. I really like the things I found! <3
